Welcome to my homepage

Welcome to my webpage, the webpage of David 'daqq' Gustafik. I'm a hobyist electrotechnician/programmer. I like to play around with robotics, electronics in general and programing microcontrollers (namely the AVR family, I also dabbled into ARMs and 8051...). Currently I'm a university student studying Eletronic Engineering...

On this page, I am presenting my projects, myself, sharing knowledge, offering services and help/consulting.

My projects deal mostly with low voltage apps (clocks, simple measurment, robotics) but there are exceptions, such as the coilgun.

I also provide electronics development. Any services I provide are meant mostly for either other hobbyists (machinists, analog people, etc.) who need brains (a mictrocontoller) into their app. I've made clocks, motor controllers output multipliers etc. for this type of apps. Also, my prices are very low (a digital clock, comlete development and manufacture for approx 20Euro), so it's a good deal.

My current project is my a robot for the company I work for and a few other minor things...

Description of the sections:

Home: This will redirect you back here.

The Projecst section: Deals mostly with my electronic and misc. projects. To most of them there are complete resources (source codes, schematics etc. ). There are also links to my publications.

Stuff section: Cool items I gathered over the ages. Mostly vintage electronic items, but also a mechanical calculator, scopes + schematics etc. (some of the stuff ignorant people will call junk).

About section: This section provides basic information on me, my hobbies, etc. Also provides a contact form. Also, if you need something done, please contact me here.

Thoughts: just some random thoughts that I wrote when I was pissed off at something.

Links: Cool links to places you wanna go. Electrotechnical, humorous, science etc...

Theoreticals: Some stupid ideas that won't work, but I'm not sure why. If you know, please mail me.

11.07.2008: After two years of awful service, malevolent ISP manipulations and crappy connection with extremely limited data transfer, I see freedom. My Slovanet connection is no more. To top that I have a new internet provider - Chello. At TEN Mbps (real ten megabits, which are achieved, so it's not some advertisment never to be fulfiled, but a real and measured statement), and at only 1.5 times the cost of my old ISP, well, let's say that I am veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery happy. However my bitternes at Slovanet is still there - when I rule the world, guess who will be the second in line for a shot from an orbital railgun satelite - right after spammers ;-)

02.04.2007: Slovanet sucks. Using their infinite wisdom, my ISP has done a wise thing. I signed up for unlimited internet, 512kbit/s download, no data nor time limits. After less than year, the assholes assumed that it would be better if they made a limit. So, when somebody DARES to go over 10GB upload and download together (which is very easy even without P2P cause of the enormousness of the pages these days, and VOIP etc.) his bandwidth is decreased to 256kbit/s. This is not a big catastrophy. The catastrophy begins when you DARE to actually use your service and transfer another 5GB (upload + download, so 2.5GB each way). Your bandwidth is decreased to 32kbit/s, which is LESS than the eversucking dial up with an antique modem I have somewhere catching dust. You do get data and time unlimited internet, but at cost of losing your sanity waiting for your daily comic to show. The worst thing: I am bound to these assholes for another 13months. So, moral of the story: AVOID SLOVANET AT ALL COSTS as they are completely unethical, binding you for a lot of months, changing the rules at will, their service SUCKS and is overpriced!
